Choose SPF 30 (high protection) or SPF 50 (very high protection)

SPF = "sun protection factor," referring to the ability to deflect UVB rays. SPF rating is calculated by comparing the amount of time needed to burn sunscreen-protected skin vs. unprotected skin.

SPF will prolong the time it takes for your skin to get burned. If your skin would get burned in 10 minutes without protection, it would take 300 minutes (10 minutes times 30 (SPF30) = 300) to get burns when using SPF30. Or 500 minutes when using SPF50.

Use a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin and to reduce the risk of skin cancer and premature aging caused by sunrays.

Apply to skin before exposure to the sun.

Re-apply at least every 2 hours, and always after bathing, swimming or extreme sport where sweating occurs. You should also make sure to re-apply after using a towel.
